.Man City pushes for contract renewal with KDB ‘full of loyalty’
Manchester City is considering extending Kevin De Bruyne's contract.
‘Maestro on the field’ De Bruyne is a Manchester City legend. He is a player who leads the team's attack using his crazy vision, amazing passing ability, and playmaking, and is even evaluated as the best midfielder of all time.
The only player to come to Manchester City before coach Pep Guardiola arrived. After Guardiola arrived, many players lost their positions and left the team, but De Bruyne Mann firmly maintained his position. According to the soccer statistics media 'Transfermarkt', Manchester City alone recorded 97 goals and 155 assists in 360 games. He ranked first in assists in the Premier League (PL) several times, and recorded 20 assists in the league in the 2019-20 season, putting him on par with Thierry Henry for the most assists in a single season.
He is already in his mid-30s, but the void left behind him is too big. Hamstring injury recurred in the opening match against Burnley. Afterwards, Man City had to play without De Bruyne until the middle of the league. He was holding up well, but there was definitely a big difference in performance compared to when he was there.
De Bruyne's return, which fans have been eagerly waiting for. He returned as a substitute in the last Newcastle United match and announced the 'return of the king' by scoring 1 goal and 1 assist.
Although he has recently been linked to a transfer to Saudi Arabia, Manchester City has no intention of selling De Bruyne. Reporter Jack Gohan, who is familiar with Manchester City news, said, "There is absolutely no reason for Manchester City to want to sell. Even if a transfer were to take place, it would require an astronomical amount of money. De Bruyne has settled in Cheshire and calls Manchester 'home'. “I have no plans to leave the Etihad Stadium,” he said.
He would rather consider extending his contract. Simon Mulloch, a reporter for the British media outlet Mirror, said: "Man City are considering extending De Bruyne's contract until the summer of 2026 in return for his loyalty. He loves life at Manchester City and his three young children call Manchester their 'home'. “I’m calling it,” he said.
