France's next-generation ironclad wants to join Real

Chelsea and Real Madrid will clash in this summer's transfer market.

Spanish media 'Ficha Jesus' reported on the 22nd (Korean time), "Chelsea has entered the race to recruit Leni Yoro (18, Lille), putting the brakes on Real's plan to strengthen its defense."

Yoro is evaluated as a center back with high growth potential in the future. Despite his young age, his explosive power and smooth ball control are considered his greatest strengths.

He has already established himself as a key defender in Lille. Yoro has scored 3 goals in 40 games across all competitions this season, raising expectations as a player who will lead the future of Lille.

His outstanding performance spread into transfer rumors. Lille coach Paulo Fonseca acknowledged the possibility of a transfer in a recent interview, saying, “Yoro will be playing for one of the best clubs in Europe next season.”

He said, “Yoro has been with us since he was 16 years old. He has grown a lot, but still has high potential. He is very focused and always wants to learn. “I am confident that he will become the world’s best center back in modern soccer.”

Real Madrid was mentioned as a likely next destination. Real chose Yoro as a replacement to fill the void of Nacho Fernandez (34) in preparation for his possible departure this summer.

It is not Real’s one-sided interest. Yoro is known to have expressed his desire to move to Real Madrid this summer through his agent, Jorge Mendes.

Among these, Chelsea has emerged as a strong competitor. According to this report, Chelsea, who are looking to strengthen their defense this summer, are ready to rush in to sign Yoro.

Recruiting a new center back is considered one of Chelsea's goals. Even if Thiago Silva (39) stays this summer, the prevailing argument is that a new center back must be recruited to ensure a generational change.

Chelsea's will to recruit Yoro is firm. ‘Pichajes’ said, “Chelsea offered 7 million euros (approximately 10.3 billion won) to sign Yoro. “This is a much larger amount than Real, which proposed between 3 million euros (approximately 4.4 billion won) and 3.5 million euros (approximately 5.1 billion won).”
