Manchester United… Includes 14.3 billion won full transfer clause

 Farewell to Manchester United is just around the corner.


British media outlet 'Cut Offside' reported on the 21st (Korean time) that "Donny van de Beek (26), who has completed his Frankfurt medical test, has actually been confirmed to be on loan."

Van de Beek left Ajax in 2020 and joined Manchester United. Manchester United invested 39 million euros (about 55 billion won) and selected Van de Beek as the key to replacing the midfield generation.

The recruitment results were disappointing. Van de Beek had difficulty adjusting to Manchester United. In his first season, he had a disappointing performance of just 1 goal and 2 assists in all competitions.

His last season also failed to show any potential for his revival. Despite reuniting with coach Erik ten Haag, with whom he had a close relationship at Ajax, he suffered a knee injury and failed to make a comeback again.

The situation this season is even worse. He appeared in only two games across all competitions and was reduced to an invisible man. In terms of playing time, it was only 21 minutes.

The transfer process took place quickly. According to this report, Frankfurt succeeded in signing Van de Beek on loan under the condition that Manchester United cover 40-50% of his weekly wages.

Detailed contract details were also revealed. Florian Plattenberg of Germany's 'Sky Sports' said, "Van de Beek's loan agreement with Frankfurt included a full signing clause worth less than 10 million euros (about 14.3 billion won). “It is not a mandatory provision,” he said.

Only the official announcement remains for the loan transfer. Manchester United and Frankfurt are in the process of exchanging final contracts. An official announcement is expected to be made as soon as the transfer window opens on the 1st of next month.
