‘K League goalkeeper’ Kim Young-kwang (41) announced his retirement from active duty.
Kim Young-kwang announced on his social media account on the 6th, “I have now decided to take off my gloves and am preparing for my second path.”
He entered the professional world in earnest by joining the Jeonnam Dragons in 2002. Afterwards, he played for Ulsan HD FC, Gyeongnam FC, Seoul E-Land, and Seongnam FC.
Including 17 games last season, Kim Young-kwang has a total of 605 appearances in the K-League. He is second on the record for most appearances in the K League of all time.
He played in 17 games with the adult national team after playing for his age group.
He also helped Korea advance to the quarterfinals at the 2004 Athens Olympics.
Kim Young-kwang was evaluated as having great reflexes and quickness, as well as good kicking power.
Kim Young-kwang, who parted ways with Seongnam at the end of last season, marks the end of his active career.
